Connect your mailbox
Campbooks is an email client, so the first thing to do is connect the inbox you actually use. You can connect more than one, and each connection is read over a secure OAuth grant — Campbooks never sees your password.
Connect an account
- Open Settings → Email accounts, or go to Add account from the home screen.
- Choose your provider: Zoho Mail, Google Workspace (Gmail), or Microsoft 365.
- You'll be sent to your provider's consent screen. Review the access Campbooks is asking for and approve it.
- You'll land back in Campbooks, and your inbox will start syncing.
The first sync reads your existing inbox so Campbooks can begin sorting it. Depending on how much mail you have, a full first pass can take a few minutes — you can keep working while it runs.
:::info One grant covers mail and calendar Connecting an account also requests calendar access, so your calendar can sync too. Signing in with Google or Microsoft stays mail-free — calendar scopes are only requested when you connect a mailbox. See Calendar sync. :::
What Campbooks does with your inbox
Once connected, Campbooks reads incoming mail and the documents attached to it, then uses AI to categorize, prioritize, and file what arrives. Nothing is sent on your behalf — Scout surfaces what needs you and drafts replies for your approval, but you're always the one who hits send.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect an account any time from Settings → Email accounts. Removing an account revokes Campbooks' access and removes its stored tokens; to reconnect later you'll go through the consent screen again.
:::tip Connection looks stuck? If an account shows as disconnected after a provider password change or a long idle period, just reconnect it once from Settings → Email accounts to refresh the grant. :::
